Event Highlights

Annual Spring Meeting

Every spring, the NCCNA holds its annual meeting to update members on what's going on with the organization.  The meetings also feature great speakers and interesting activities.  Check out the highlights below, and consider getting DVDs if you were unable to attend.

Neuropathy Action Awareness Day

The Neuropathy Action Foundation, a key partner of the NCCNA, held the first-ever Neuropathy Action Awareness Day on June 26, 2007 in San Francisco.  The NCCNA sent a busload of people and hosted a booth.  See a synopsis and photos.

We've continued to be actively involved in these events.  Read about what happened in 2008, and see the photos and highlights from 2009.  We have DVDs from 2009 available now, and are working on other years.

The fourth annual event was held in Sacramento for the second year on June 17, 2010.

Task Force on Peripheral Neuropathy Complete

Earlier this year, the Neuropathy Action Foundation (NAF) sponsored legislation to establish a task force on peripheral neuropathy designed to improve patient care.  The measure, Assembly Concurrent Resolution (ACR) 87, was introduced by Assemblymember Mary Hayashi (D-Hayward).  The task force, which included NCCNA president Bev Anderson and Director Emeritus Sandra Vinson, plus other neuropathy patients, doctors, legislators, insurance representatives, and others, met in March.  The full report of their recommendations is available here.

Bev Anderson and Mike Colazzi Appear on KCRA

NCCNA President Bev Anderson and Elk Grove Group Leader Mike Colazzi were interviewed and appeared on a segment produced for KCRA's HealthWatch 3.  They were interviewed and recorded for about 45 minutes, though only a small portion actually was used in the segment.  The segment was broadcast on May 12, 2007, and also on their health show the following Saturday.  Check out the video here.
