Security Issue with Adobe

This website, like most others, has some resources available in Portable Document Format (PDF) files.  These include document resources such as past issues of our newsletter, handouts, articles, and forms.  There was recently a critical security issue with Adobe Reader and Adobe Acrobat, all versions.  Pre-fix versions of these programs have a security vulnerability that can be exploited to inflict users' systems with great damage.  Fixes were released on March 11 and March 18.  Please be sure you are using versions released on or after that date.  This is vital to your PC's safety.

For more information about this issue, see the official bulletin on Adobe's website, and their security response team's blog.  Also, check the website of your secuirty software to see if they know about the issue and have updated your software.

As far as we know, our files, which we have personally made into PDFs, are safe.  You should be able to download them or view them online with no problem.  Due to the lack of specific information about exactly how this problem occurs or works, however, we cannot be absolutely certain.

Be sure to use a good anti-virus program and be diligent about keeping it current.  Check and make sure yours has addressed the issue with Reader or that you have updated your Reader before opening any PDF file.
