Committee Policy

Committees may be appointed by the NCCNA Board of Directors from time to time as needed to address specific issues.  At the time of appointment, the board will clearly explain the purpose of the committee and the product expected (such as recommendations or a project), as well as a timeframe for the committee to complete its work.

Upon the conclusion of their work, or at any point when the committee desires further input from the board, the chairperson or his/her designee will present their product to the board.  The product will be evaluated and discussed with the chairperson of the committee or that person’s designee making the presentation.  Any concerns the Board has will be given to the chairperson or designee to go back to the committee for consideration, including the reasons the board has concerns.  Inasmuch as possible, the board will accept the product and implement it at the first or second presentation.  The board will not do the committee’s work or alter their product without the input and agreement of the committee.  The final decision about the implementation of the product, however, rests with the board.
